Kimberley pochází z rodiny, kde uměl zpívat každý. Velmi dobrými zpěvačkami byly i její sestry nebo matka. Od mala tak věděla, že se zpěv stane její životní náplní. „Myslím, že jsem zpívala dřív, než jsem vůbec začala mluvit. Zpěv byl v mém životě přirozený,“ sdělila zpěvačka v rozhovoru pro server Daily Mail.

I am proud to have been an @actingforothers ambassador last night. To everyone who bought a ticket, you helped to support the work that this charity does for a little longer.

„Lidé mi říkají, že to najednou přijde a já uslyším, jak tikají mé biologické hodiny. Poslouchám a nic. Žádně tik tak. Zkrátka to u mě nepřichází a já vím, že to ani nepřijde,“ myslí si zpěvačka, která se celý život soustřeďuje na kariéru a nelituje toho. Podle Kimberley je zažité, že mít děti je pro ženu povinnost.
Možné těhotenství ji vyděsilo
Doorstep mini photoshoot (socially distanced of course) with my mate and fellow Black Countrywoman @snappersass who created a gallery for the @bbc called “Artists In Lockdown”.
She has photographed eighteen artists on their doorsteps with the musical weapon of choice to hand. I obvs had my @shure sm58 mic... and as an outtake I had to have my little fur boy Zain in a pic too! We each give a few words on what we have done during lockdown, or looking forward to doing post lockdown.

Před pár lety si v oblasti podbřišku nahmatala malou bouličku. Vyděsilo ji to, protože se domnívala, že by mohlo jít o těhotenství. „Šla jsem k lékaři a celou dobu si říkala, proboha ne. Velmi se mi ulevilo, když mi bylo řečeno, že se o těhotenství nejedná,“ sdělila. Byl to nezhoubný nádor o velikosti grapefruitu.
Odstranili jí dělohu

Kvůli nádorů jí lékaři museli odstranit dělohu. Zatímco jiné ženy by byly z takového zákroku zřejmě zaskočeny, Kimberley to brala dobře. Děti nechtěla a věděla, že je ani chtít nebude. „Přesto to nebylo tak jednoduché, protože to nebylo mé rozhodnutí. Musela jsem to podstoupit, abych přežila,“ myslí si.
Pooperační čas byl náročný
A pleasure to attend the #MBCC awards tonight with my family. TheMidlands Business Community Charity awards celebrate the unsung heroes who diligently serve the community and the local businesses who help to generate work and opportunities. Like a local Pride of Britain awards. It’s in its fourth year and is sold out. It’s also a fundraiser and tonight we are raising money for the West Midlands Police cadets and Better Pathways who work towards providing support for Mental Health in the community.
I love it so far and it’s only the beginning of the night!

Když měla po zákroku, nemohla kvůli bolestem zpívat. Byla na tom psychicky špatně a uvědomila si, že zpěv je pro ni její život. „Dostalo mě to. Opravdu jsem byla vyřízená z toho, že jsem nějaký čas nebyla schopná zpívat,“ doplnila.

The cutest thing happened today!
At #JuicyOasis every day there is a morning walk. Thursday is always the 10km walk to the pretty village of Dornes and back.
Some of the #JuicyCrew had noticed a little dog trotting along us as we entered Dornes and as we took our group pic in the village.
Well this little lady followed us all the way back to Juicy O! She was the sweetest thing! She had the waggiest tail ever and was so friendly! Apparently she does this journey with everyone who does the Dornes walk from Juicy O, since back in March. The Juicy staff always pop her in the car and drive her back to her owner.
Clearly the owner is loving this little “arrrangement”! Sneakily I was glad she kept walking with us, I was sad to say goodbye!

„Po operaci jsem si uvědomila, že mám děti. Jsou to mé písně. Je to zpěv, který tolik miluji. Bylo pro mě velmi těžké, že jsem se ho musela na několik dní vzdát,“ dodala s tím, že zpěv jí dodává sílu a žene kupředu.

V roce 1995 Kimberley zazářila s písní Flavour Of The Old School, která ji dostala mezi největší hudební hvězdy. Díky tomu tak pronikla do hudebního průmyslu a už z něj nevyšla ven. Za svou kariéru se setkala s mnohými slavnými zpěváky a hudebníky a vzkazuje všem, že by si každý měl někdy zkusit něco zazpívat, aby věděl, jak krásný je to pocit.
