Touring Our Solar System - PART 2

Continuing our tour through the solar system, in this series let’s briefly review some of its general characteristics, and then examine each major planet in detail. Our solar system consists of eight major planetary bodies or planets, which are locked in orbit around a medium sized and medium age star we call Sol.

You wouldn't know talent if it bit you on the leg

The clowns who are badmouthing Kal on that little known expats.cz forum wouldn't DARE to actually come out where Kal puts out his columns, here on iDnes, because they KNOW that that's where Kal's friends are.  Just the thought of coming over here makes them shiver & shake in their boots, I think.. And rightly so! ;-D

Mercury does rotate!

Mercury does rotate. It's true that it behaves like the Moon (it is tidally locked) but days and nights occur on Mercury since it is locked into a 3:2 rather than a 1:1 resonance.

"Sol" is a latin name for the Sun. Englishman almost never says "Sol" meaning the Sun.

Každé děcko ví co "sol" znamená, protože každé děcko zná tuto písničku:
